Speed up assessment with AI grading
Take automated assessment far beyond multiple choice questions with Hubro's AI grading tool. Now you can assess your students' skills and critical thinking abilities in seconds, even if your class has hundreds or thousands of students.
- Grades and feedback in seconds
- Scales to a full lecture cohort
- Nothing published without your approval
Assessment that reaches past multiple choice
AI grading is built into the simulation, so the activity that engages your students is also the one that assesses them. Written assignments come back with a grade and personal feedback for every student, on work that shows what they can actually do with the syllabus.
Test skills
It's challenging to evaluate how well students apply concepts from the syllabus, but a simulation provides a great testbed — and a written assignment captures the reasoning behind the decisions they made in it.
Deeper learning
Your students develop a deeper understanding of the subject matter by applying key concepts in an interactive business simulation, then explaining the choices they made and what happened next.
Save time
Since Hubro's AI tool takes the first pass through the pile, a set of written assignments no longer costs you an evening. You're left with more time for other learning activities.
How the AI grading tool works
The AI takes the first pass. You take the last one: grades and feedback stay in draft, visible only to you, until you approve them.
-
You give the assignment
Your students get purpose-built written assignments as part of the simulation: turnkey briefs on planning, market analysis and strategy, or your own wording if you would rather set the task yourself.
-
The AI drafts the grades
Once the students have completed their assignments, the Hubro AI evaluates the answers as if it were a professor. It proposes a grade and writes individual feedback on each assignment in a matter of seconds.
-
You review before anything is published
The results wait for you. Every proposed grade and every comment is yours to read, change or reject, and students see none of it while you do — so an AI evaluation you disagree with never reaches them.
-
You publish the grades
When you approve, the grades and feedback are released to the students and the gradebook is ready to export or sync to your LMS. What goes out is what you signed off on.

Grading is one part of it
In the age of AI, simulations matter more, not less. A chatbot can draft an essay, but it can't run a student's company for them. Simulations give instructors an assessment format that AI can't shortcut, while giving students the decision-making practice employers actually hire for.
The same three tools run across the platform: the AI marks the written work, explains each group's results back to the class, and answers questions for you and your students along the way.
AI grading
Assess written assignments and give every student personalized feedback in seconds, even with hundreds of participants.
AI debriefing
Turn each group's results into a tailored debrief: See what happened and why, with detailed talking points for the class.
AI support

Questions about AI grading
What is AI grading?
AI grading is automated assessment of written work. Students complete a written assignment inside the simulation, and Hubro's AI evaluates each submission against the assignment's criteria, returning a grade and individual written feedback within seconds.
What kind of assignments can the AI grade?
Written work: market plans, analyses, strategy briefs and end-of-simulation reflections. That is the point of it, since automated assessment that only covers multiple choice cannot reach the reasoning behind a student's decisions.
Do students get feedback, or only a grade?
Both. Every student receives individual written feedback on their own submission alongside the grade. That is what makes the format work at a class size where personal comments on each paper would otherwise be impossible.
How accurate is it, and can I override a grade?
The AI applies the assignment's criteria the way an instructor would, and it applies them consistently across every submission. It is a first pass rather than a final verdict: you see every grade and comment in the gradebook and can change any of them.
Which simulations include AI grading?
That depends on the simulation and the edition. Contact us with the course you teach and we will confirm which options include AI grading for it.
Does AI grading replace the instructor?
No. It removes the first pass through a stack of written submissions. You set the assignment, review what the AI returned, adjust anything you disagree with, and keep the final say on every grade.
